Children who attend a Public School or a Charter School are invited to participate in St. Raymond’s Parish Religious Education Program. Classes are held for students in 1st through 6th grades and meet each Sunday morning before Mass (at 8:45am in the Church Basement).
School-age children must be enrolled in a Religious Education Class for at least two years before receiving the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Reconciliation or Eucharist.
Your role as a Catholic parent is first and foremost the most sacred, challenging, and wonderful vocation that the Lord entrusts to His people. When your child was baptized they were being provided the opportunity to begin life as a disciple of Jesus Christ. As your child continues to grow physically, their spiritual life must continue to be nurtured as well. It is in the intimacy of your own home and family relationships that the Catholic faith is passed on to children by what they witness in everyday life; everything you say and do is a profound and irreplaceable example of how to live a God-centered life. We, in the St. Raymond of Penafort Parish Religious Education Program, have also been given a sacred role by the Lord – that of Catechist for your child. We welcome the opportunity to assist you in teaching your child to walk in the ways of faith. We pledge all the resources of our program to help your child come to know and better understand the person of Jesus Christ and His love for them. We pledge to do all we can to help you instill Catholic beliefs and values so that your child may live in the joy of being a disciple of Jesus.
Parents are asked to complete the form below or contact Ms. Arleen Daniels at the Parish Office (215-549-3760) to register their children.
