Good News for July 13th

“For we are God’s fellow workers” (1 Cor 3:9)

God calls us as Christians to the mystery of “co-redemption.” We are called to work with Christ in redeeming the world. All grace and power flow from Christ, but the challenge is for us to be engaged in his grace.

Deacon Bill reminded us in his homily two weeks ago that “God is Able.” We are called forward in the light of faith, knowing that God has a plan for every one of us. As baptized Christians, we are called to know our faith and love and serve God with all of our hearts as we share in the mission of the Church to share divine love with a world in desperate need.

We welcomed 17 children this week to our bible camp. They are having a great time learning about Jesus, listening to music, and enjoying the company of other children.

As I shared with you last week, here is a reminder about our upcoming Wednesday series on the Holy Spirit:

Does your spiritual tank need refilling? Has this summer left you with a thirst in need of quenching? Then let the Holy Spirit nourish you! The Wild Goose is a multi-part video series that invites viewers to a new encounter, or a renewed encounter, with the Holy Spirit. The Wild Goose will lead you on an adventure greater than you ever imagined. Meetings will be held on Wednesdays, 7/20 - 8/24, in the Church Basement. You have a choice of 1 pm or 7 pm. Please contact Minta Brown (610-329-7256) or Arleen Daniels (215-549-3760) for more information or to sign up. Pre-registration is requested.

If there is anything that we can do for you, please let us know. I hope that you are having a blessed summer!

Fr. Jeff

Pope Francis has established throughout the Church the celebration of the World Day for Grandparents on the fourth Sunday of July, near the liturgical memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus. The celebration this year occurs on 7/24. The theme is "In Old Age They Will Still Bear Fruit" (Ps. 92:15). The theme is meant to emphasize how grandparents are a gift both to society and the Church. We thank God for grandparents and wish them abundant blessings!

YOUR SKILLS ARE NEEDED! Please see below for opportunities to help at St Raymond:

Repast Ministry Lead - Facilitate catered meals being served to family and guests after a funeral (immediately following or upon return from the cemetery). Also, provide guidance and support to other team members. The only requirement is good organizational skills and the spirit of mercy and kindness.

Livestream Technician & Slides (Digital Team) - Share the 10 am Mass experience online via LiveStream at our Video Booth. The Technician sets up the media for live broadcasting. Step-by-step procedures will be provided. Basic computer skills are required.

Slides are need for 5pm, 8am & 10am Mass. There will be a Sign-Up sheet at the back of each Mass. A brief training will be provided.

1 Peter 4:10 - As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.

Please try to stay cool during the summer heat. Remember to check in with your neighbors, family, and friends. If there is anything that we can do for you, please let us know. Have a blessed summer!
