Today, December 8th is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception (Masses are at 8 am and 10:30 am). We rejoice in God preserving Mary from Original Sin and also rejoice in the amazing ways God gives us to draw us away from sin and heal the wounds that lead us to choose sin. This Sunday (Dec. 12th) is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe which recalls Mary's appearing to a group of indigenous people (and her appearing as an indigenous woman). Mary is a model of faith, hope, and love. Learn more about the article of clothing on which Mary appeared as part of the experience (it can still be seen in Mexico City).

Some of the greatest poverty in our City is along Kensington Avenue as thousands of young people battle addiction. Jesus desires us to serve our sisters and brothers there in some way. Beginning in December, we will have a small team from our parish go to Kensington one Sunday a month to serve lunch and offer hope. Dates for our service are December 19th, December 25th (yes, Christmas Day for those who can join us), January 9th, and February 13th. Pray for the soul of Carolyn Thomas who passed away. Her funeral is this Friday, December 10th. Viewing is 9:30-10:30; Eastern Star Service at 10:30; Mass at 11. Keep her husband James and son Danny in prayer as well.
