Good News for December 29th

On January 1st we will celebrate the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God. Mary deserves this title because of the Christmas Mystery: she gave birth to the God-Man, Jesus Christ! God "walked about" in the life of Mary and desires to "walkabout" in your life as well. Welcome Jesus in these days of Christmas in some new way. Join us for a Eucharistic Holy Hour after 8 am Mass on December 30th; join us for our Watch Hour/Holy Hour on December 31st at 10 pm and Mass at 11 pm; join us for Holy Mass on January 1st at 9 am. Start the NEW YEAR of 2022 with the Lord! Saint Athanasius Church will offer Mass at 4 pm on December 31st is you are looking for another option!

Make time to visit our new outdoor Nativity Scene. The manger scene was built by Roy Kerr. The figurines came to us from Bishop McDevitt High School when it closed and were restored by Rob Brown. Praise God for the witness it brings to Vernon Road. The shepherd will be added soon and the Kings by next year!

Father Chris is available for confession before Mass each weekend and anytime by an appointment. God loves you and wants to free you from sin and give you the grace to begin again! Why confess your sins to a priest?

Our Pre-K through 3rd Graders had their Christmas Show on Wednesday - it was amazing! Do not be sad you missed you - you can watch it HERE and let these dear little ones get you in the mood for Christmas!

Thank you to all who donated food, gifts, and toiletries for our Home for Christmas event. Once again, you were amazing. Things are delivered this week to the facilities and are welcomed with gratitude. If you have ideas on how things can be improved, please share the ideas with Deacon Bill at deacon@saintraymond.net. If you volunteered to help and were not contacted, we are sorry. We will try to not let that happen again. Please pray for all those facing homelessness - may God provide them with the opportunity of a new home in 2022!
