Good News for August 17th

Dear Friends in Christ,

As we get ready to welcome our children back to school, we are also getting ready for our lives to become even more busy. We need to make time to pray and give God time to speak to us. This is not always easy.

I invite you to join us on Wednesdays beginning August 31 at 7:00 for a series on prayer and how to pray with scripture. We will use the Lectio: Prayer series in FORMED. Please see the following link:

For all who began preparation in the fall of 2021 in anticipation of receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on November 6, 2022, at the Cathedral.

We will have a full-day retreat on Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm at St. Raymond's. The retreat will take place in the Sr. Rosemary room, Chapel, and Church. We will begin in the Sr. Rosemary room; the doors will open at 9:00 am. The day will conclude at 6:00 pm after attending the 5:00 pm Saturday Evening Mass.

Religious Education Program for Catholic (PREP) children attending public school, ages 5 - 12, resumes on Sunday, September 18th. Please contact Arleen Daniels at 215-549-3760, or sign up via the clipboard on the table in the back of the church.

Join us for a Meet and Greet BBQ for St Raymond Church and School families. Festivities are from 4-7 pm in the Schoolyard on Wednesday, 8/24. Food and music will be provided. We request volunteers to make salads (pasta, potato, garden, etc.). Fiat Days Retreat: For High School Girls

Sr. Florence Enechukwi from the Office for Cultural Ministries is inviting High School Girls of the Archdiocese to attend a retreat based on the theme “Fiat (Living Your Yes Like Mary).”

Join Catholic women from the greater Philadelphia area for a day of fun, friendship, faith formation, and prayer at the Catholic Women’s Conference. The 2022 theme is “Be Not Afraid: Finding Your Freedom in Christ, “ in which together we will discover the healing and freedom of heart that Jesus Christ desires to give each of us.
