Good News for March 17th

Updated: Apr 20, 2021

Did you know that Saint Patrick is the Patron Saint of Ireland? Honestly! Read the story of how it happened. And pray the holy saint of Ireland's words.... I arise today, through God's strength to pilot me, God's might to uphold me, God's wisdom to guide me, God's eye to look before me, God's ear to hear me, God's word to speak for me, God's hand to guard me, God's shield to protect me, God's host to save me From snares of devils, From temptation of vices, From everyone who shall wish me ill, afar and near. I summon today All these powers between me and those evils, Against every cruel and merciless power that may oppose my body and soul, Against incantations of false prophets, Against black laws of pagandom, Against false laws of heretics, Against craft of idolatry, Against spells of witches and smiths and wizards, Against every knowledge that corrupts man's body and soul; Christ to shield me today Against poison, against burning, Against drowning, against wounding, So that there may come to me an abundance of reward. Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.

The sacristy freezer got defrosted without any problems. Thank God Father Chris is really trying to be PATIENT! How are you doing this week? Are you remembering God's patience towards you and then sharing that patience with others? If yes, well done. If not, start today! Watch the homily or experience last Sunday's WORSHIP. Be sure to read last week's BULLETIN as well. If you want to schedule some time to chat with Father Chris, please do do HERE.

We continue to seek to serve our young disciples through our virtual Children’s Liturgy of the Word. Please share this VIDEO TEACHING WITH BROCK & FATHER CHRIS with any child 8 and under so they might be nourished by the Word of God this weekend. CLOW-Mar21

Friday is the Solemnity of Saint Joseph (since it is such a great day of celebration, the Church "allows" us to eat meat and skip the fast for this Friday of Lent). The spouse of Mary the mother of Jesus and the legal father of Jesus according to Jewish law, Joseph is a model of humility and obedience to God’s will. He followed God’s instructions, given by angels in dreams, and took the pregnant Mary into his home as his wife, protected her and Jesus at the child’s birth in Bethlehem through the family’s sojourn in Egypt, and provided for them as a carpenter in Nazareth. This feast, which was celebrated locally as early as the ninth century, became a universal feast in the fifteenth century, when it was placed on the liturgical calendar. Pope Pius IX named St. Joseph Patron of the Universal Church in 1870; he is also the patron saint of carpenters, the dying, and workers. “Being a guardian is the distinctive trait of Joseph: Being the guardian is his great mission . . . We look to Joseph as the model educator, who watches over and accompanies Jesus as he grows ‘in wisdom, age and grace,’ as the Gospel says. He was not Jesus’ father: the father of Jesus was God, but he was a father to Jesus, he was a father to Jesus in order to help him grow. And how did he help him grow? In wisdom, age and grace.” —Pope Francis. ENJOY OUR VIDEO REFLECTION ON ST. JOSEPH FROM CHRIS SUPPLEE!

We have 632 subscribers and would like to reach 1000 which will allow us to "go live" from a phone or tablet (which will help us share future events not in the Church). Thank you!
